DESCRIPTION:The Lewisville-Clemmons Chamber of Commerce shares the common question that is facing everyone:  What the heck is going on with our economy??  We are excited to welcome Dr. Christopher Jeffries\, local professor and economist who will share some great insights about where we've been\, where we are\, and where we're going!  Please join us for a breakfast summit to discuss the economy and learn more about what the heck is going on!\n\n\n\nEmcee:  Kristin Johnson\, VP of Economic Development\, Lewisville-Clemmons Chamber of Commerce\n\n\n\nPresenter:  Dr. Christopher Jeffries\n\nDr. Christopher Jeffries has previously served as Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs\, Executive Vice President\, Vice President for Academic Affairs\, Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs\, and Chair\, Department of Business Administration. Dr. Jeffries received his Ph.D. in Economics from Florida State University\, M.A. in Economics from Ohio University\, and B.S. in Economics from North Carolina Central University. He is an award-winning university professor and has taught at several colleges and universities in the Southeast. Dr. Jeffries is a former recipient of a Fulbright Lecturer Award to the People's Republic of China. In addition to two visits to China\, Dr. Jeffries has professionally related travel to India\, Japan\, South Korea\, South Africa\, and Brazil. Dr. Jeffries has more than 28 economic articles in books\, journals\, and proceedings. He is also the author of several Christian books.\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the Presentation:\nThe purpose of the talk is to provide an overview of current economic conditions in the U.S. The characteristics of a recession will be discussed and a determination made of whether the economy is currently experiencing one. An overview of recessions over the the last 50 years will be highlighted.
