Sign up and receive FREE training from the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office about what it takes to keep you safe! The Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) course\, designed and built on the Avoid\, Deny\, Defend (ADD) strategy developed by the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) at Texas State University in 2004\, provides strategies\, guidance\, and a proven plan for surviving an active shooter event. In 2013\, ALERRT was named the National Standard in Active Shooter Response Training by the FBI.\n\n\n\nTopics include the history and prevalence of active shooter events\, civilian response options\, and demonstrates examples of things to do in case of an active shooter event. This potentially lifesaving program is open to the public and will address what individuals need to know to look out for their individual safety. There is no charge to attend these training sessions\, however\, registration in advance is required.\n\n \n\nPlease note: the presentation contains realistic material and reenactments that some attendees may find graphic in nature. Discretion for sensitive audiences is advised.
